The following is how we work most weddings:

1: Once you have decided to hire us, we agree on how long we will play and what the exact fee will be. The minimum length we play is 1 hour. For most weddings this allows us to play 15 minutes while guests arrive, the ceremony itself, and a few more minutes while guests leave. Many couples also hire us for the cocktail hour and/or dinner.

2: As you fill out the contract you will need to decide on specific pieces for the ceremony. Please see the repertoire page for suggestions and a list of our music. We can do special requests as well and can discuss this over the phone.

3: We prefer payment on the day of the event, BEFORE the event begins. We will find the payment contact person (that you have listed on the contract) when we arrive. Please note that checks need to be made out to Mary Manning, NOT South Sound Strings.

4: When we arrive we will find the coordinator and/or minister to talk about cues for beginning and for the timing of the ceremony music.

5: Important requirements the day of the wedding are 3 (or 4 if quartet) armless chairs placed where you would like us. And shelter from direct sun and/or rain for outdoor events. This can be natural shade or a canopy.
